Is Flo free? What you get without paying

AYWA makes a period tracker, and it’s one of the options here. We say so wherever it comes up, and every fact about another app links to that company’s own page.

Short answer

Yes. Flo has a free version you can keep using for as long as you like. It covers period and ovulation predictions, the cycle calendar, symptom tracking, reminders, Secret Chats and Anonymous Mode.

The paid tier, Flo Premium, adds cycle patterns and trends, the Flo Health Assistant chat, the expert content library, a doctor’s report and the Symptom Checker. On a US iPhone on 15 October 2026, Flo offered $59.99 a year after a 14-day free trial, $14.99 a month, or a $79.99-a-year family plan for up to five people.

What’s free and what’s Premium

This table combines Flo’s own help articles with the in-app comparison screen we saw on an iPhone in the US on 15 October 2026. Flo changes its offer from time to time, so check the app for your own account.

Flo’s help centre says the free version will keep working without payment, and that Premium features sit behind paywalls you can close. Flo also says free users may see Premium offers as splash screens, pop-ups and push notifications. Closing them doesn’t charge you.

What Flo Premium costs

Flo doesn’t publish one fixed price. Its help centre says it offers monthly and yearly plans, that the yearly plan is paid up front, and that it often runs promotions. Here’s what the app showed on a US iPhone on 15 October 2026:

PlanPrice shownFree trial
Yearly$59.99 a year (shown as $5.00 a month)14 days, then $59.99 a year
Monthly$14.99 a monthNone offered on this screen
Family (up to 5 members)$79.99 a year14 days
Prices vary by country, by offer and over time. Flo’s App Store listing shows in-app purchases from $1.99 to $59.99 for US accounts.

Over a year, monthly billing adds up to $179.88, three times the yearly plan. If you’re sure you want Premium for a whole year, the yearly plan is much cheaper. If you only want to try it, a trial you remember to cancel costs nothing.

How to use Flo without being charged

  1. Skip the trial. When the Premium screen appears, close it. Flo says you won’t be charged unless you confirm payment with your password, Face ID or Touch ID.
  2. If you started a trial, set a reminder. Flo’s trials renew automatically into a paid plan, and each account can use a free trial only once.
  3. Cancel in your iPhone’s Settings, not in Flo. In-app subscriptions belong to your Apple Account, not your Flo account. Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Flo, then Cancel Subscription. Apple’s billing rules mean you should cancel at least a day before the renewal date.
  4. Check that it worked. If there’s no Cancel button, or you see an expiration date in red, the subscription is already cancelled. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
Deleting Flo doesn’t cancel the subscription. Removing the app, or even deleting your Flo account, doesn’t stop Apple from billing you. Always cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Is the free version enough?

For most people who mainly want to know when their next period is due, yes. Free Flo still predicts your period and fertile days, keeps your calendar and logs symptoms. What you give up is mostly interpretation: patterns over time, the AI chat, the reading library and the report for your doctor.

Three questions help you decide:

What other trackers give you for free

Every app below has period tracking free. The difference is what sits behind the paywall, and whether there is one at all.

If you want an app with no paid tier at all, our guide to free period trackers with no subscription goes through each option.

AYWA shows its period estimate as a range and labels it an estimate. Logging, the calendar and the estimate are free in AYWA, and there are no ads.
